Here at Square Root Coffee we are on a mission to grow knowledge of speciality coffee and how serving it well can make a real difference to customer experience

For years coffee has been seen as a commodity in this country, a necessary drink to follow meals or for entertaining or holding a business meeting.  However over the last 15 years we have seen speciality coffee growing as a category.  As people travel further afield and experience the coffee other countries have to offer they are returning home with a thirst for knowledge and a desire to experience these unique and almost wine like flavour varieties. Speciality coffee is a food product and should be treated with the same respect afforded to the very finest food. Freshly roasted Arabica coffee is the best choice. 

We work very closely with a number of speciality green bean importers who ethically source all the beans that we roast.  We are therefore able to track the bean from field, through farm, processing, storage and shipment to ensure that only the freshest and ripest are being sourced and that the farmers and workers are being paid above market value, allowing them to also invest in their own infrastructure.

Once these very special beans are received at our Artisan Roastery in Edington, Wiltshire, we start on the journey of exploring all the taste nuances of each batch, sample roasting to find the sweet spot or spots and cupping numerous samples until we have found the perfect roasted bean. From here we then roast in small batches, tasting and re-tasting to make sure we are able to bring the freshest and tastiest coffee straight to you.
